Greenham winner Mohaather will be back this year
Lightly-raced colt could make his mark this season.
Plans for what promises to be a fruitful four-year-old season for the lightly-raced Mohaather remain on hold until the situation regarding the resumption of racing in Britain becomes clearer. This time last year Marcus Tregoning was celebrating an impressive success in the Greenham Stakes with his Showcasing colt, but he was to miss his intended run in the 2000 Guineas after suffering a setback that kept him on the sidelines until the autumn. Mohaather eventually returned with a creditable fifth place in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot in October, but while he is training at present, an extension to the current suspension of racing in Britain means Tregoning cannot start to map a campaign. It should have been the Greenham Stakes at @NewburyRacing this weekend. 🏇

He said: “He’s in full training, but we just don’t know where or when we will start. “Until we know when and how racing will resume, it is all up in the air really. “I think he wants a bit of cut in the ground, so that could be a factor. “The current situation may rule out trips to France, so we will have to see what happens.”
