Burke confident over Laurens’ chances

Laurens proves too much at Deauville

Trainer Karl Burke is confident about Laurens’ chances of returning to form in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville on Sunday.

The four-year-old enjoyed a strong 2018, winning four of her seven outings, but she has lost her way slightly in 2019.

Laurens is yet to pick up a Group One win so far this year and needs to put in a strong performance for her camp.

She won the Prix Saint-Alary and Prix de Diane on French soil last year and Burke is hoping another trip across the Channel will help her to return to form on Sunday.

Burke said: ‘I’ve been happy with her for the last couple of weeks.

‘She’s 100 per cent over that little problem, and we’re looking forward to running her.

‘Hopefully she can go and show her true form.’
