Bentley revels in Sandown success
Jockey Harry Bentley has lavished praise on Kurious after the duo picked up the win in Saturday’s Coral Charge at Sandown Park.
Having triumphed at the same venue last month in the Randox Health Scurry Stakes, Kurious produced another fantastic performance to hold off the fast-finishing runner-up Garrus, who enjoyed a positive first run for Charlie Hills. The three-year-old’s triumph provided trainer Henry Candy with his first victory in the race for 23 years, having previously won the then-named Sprint Stakes with Eveningperformance in 1996. Kurious, who is owned by Hot To Trot Racing 2, has now won three of her four starts at Sandown Park and Bentley believes there is even more to come from the filly, ‘She was really impressive and clearly acts well on the track, having won a Listed race here last time,’ he was quoted saying by the Racing Post. ‘I liked the way she quickened clear and she sealed the deal nicely.‘There should be more to come.’
