Back A Delux Winner At Brighton
Five-Year-Old Ready To Strike Under Ideal Conditions
The Gary Moore trained mare LUXFORD looks to have a lot in her favour in the Doves Live Here 26 July Handicap over a mile this afternoon and can get another win to add to her existing three. Brighton is a quirky track with cambers and undulations, and previous success there is a big advantage for a horse; Luxford fits the bill well with two wins from four tries at the course, both over today’s distance. She had a near five months break from January and put in a decent effort when reappearing at Chelmsford, finishing third to Muraaqeb at the end of May, beaten just half a length after looking the likely winner a furlong out. That horse has run well since, being unlucky at the same course, whilst the second, Dor’s Law has won easily at Nottingham. The 25/1 DUKE OF YORKIE is best on ratings and JOYFUL DREAM often promises but looks a consistent ‘placer’, so at 5/2 with a good few of the layers, Luxford can start off another good summer season.
