Haggas weighing up jockey options
Trainer William Haggas says there are several replacements around if Sea Of Class needs a new jockey for Royal Ascot.
With Sea of Class’ regular rider James Doyle in line to partner Masar in Wednesday’s Prince of Wales’s Stakes, Haggas may be forced to look around for a new jockey for what is being billed as the best race of Royal Ascot week. Speaking about potential options for his charge, Haggas says he does have several options available to him although he will wait on Doyle’s decision before looking at other jockeys. ‘James Doyle will ride Masar if he runs in the race. According to him no decision has been made yet.We are still hopeful he will be available,’ he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. ‘I’ve got my ideas (if Doyle is not available) and we have had quite a few jockeys phoning. I will talk to Mrs Tsui (owner) and cross that bridge when it comes to it.’
