Hello Youmzain heading to Ascot
Trainer Kevin Ryan intends to take Hello Youmzain to the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot after his heroics at Haydock.
The Jaber Abdullah-owned charge claimed a surprise victory in the Armstrong Aggregates Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock on Saturday. Many regarded Hello Youmzain’s victory as one of the shocks of the season so far, although Ryan wasn’t surprised at all. Ryan feels the three-year-old is ‘a top-class horse’ and wants to put him to the test in the Commonwealth Cup on June 21. Ryan said: ‘He’s come out of the race fine and that (Commonwealth Cup) is the plan.‘I don’t know why it was such a surprise. There was only 2lb between them on ratings – those are the facts. ‘He (Hello Youmzain) is a top-class horse. He was a top-class two-year-old last season – you don’t go and win a Group Two as easy as he did if you’re not top-class.’
