Jubiloso looking Ascot bound
Jubiloso looks set to run at Royal Ascot next month although connections are yet to decide what race she will be entered in.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old followed up her debut victory at Chelmsford last month with an impressive triumph in the Starlight Wishes Novice Stakes at Newbury on Friday. A run at Ascot now looks the next logical step for Jubiloso, with Teddy Grimthorpe, who is the racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, confirming their intentions. Grimthorpe said: ‘We don’t have a definite plan, but I’d hope Sir Michael would want to head to Royal Ascot, but what guise that might take is hard to tell. We’ll see how she is.’ There are certainly plenty of options open for Jubiloso at Ascot, with Grimthorpe admitting a run in the Sandringham, Jersey or Coronation Stakes looks most likely.‘I suppose she could do the Sandringham, Jersey or Coronation Stakes,’ Grimthorpe added. ‘She didn’t surprise us on Friday and we’ve always liked her. She’s shown a good deal of ability at home, but that doesn’t always translate to the racecourse.’
