Nod And A Nap At Beverley
Quick Returner Has Conditions To Win
The Mark Johnston trained NORDANO has raced just four times in his life but contests the Jim Hibbs ‘To Be Fair’ Handicap today with a decent chance of getting gold. His last run, just a week ago at Wetherby, was a big improvement on his other three and saw him running second, beaten two lengths to odds-on Moon King, who was completing a double. Nordano looked a thorough stayer there and there is every chance he might make all over today’s shorter distance but, significantly, he goes off the same mark of 67 and is definitely on an upward curve. The ground has some give in it and reference to BTO shows him getting five points for going and nine for distance via his sire and Irish St Leger winner, Juke Box Jury.JAZZ HANDS is well rated and won last time out, but this is a big step up in distance on a stiff course, whilst LINCOLN TALE is another improver who may benefit from a longer distance but who is up 2 lbs from her handicap debut mark of 58. FANTASTIC MS FOX is being backed but Nordano’s 7/2 should be taken. G Lees
