Foxtrot Knight On By Ruth Carr To Pontefract

Sprinter Ready To Get His Head In Front Under Ideal Conditions

North Yorkshire trainer Ruth Carr is in fine form at the moment with three wins in the last fortnight from 26 runners and she sends FOXTROT KNIGHT down the M1 to Pontefract today for the Golden Horseracing Club Is With Robert Stewart Handicap.

The seven-year-old has won five times in his career of 60 races and four have been on turf.

Of probable significance is the fact that three of those wins have been in April with one in May and he has never won in any month after that, so is probably a Spring horse.

Two of the wins were on his second outing of the season and this is the case today after an excellent seasonal debut runner-up spot to Zapper Cass at Wolverhampton.

The gelding has a decent draw in 2, is top on BTO regular ratings and second on speed and goes off the same mark as at Wolvy.

It all looks good.

The huge threat is SUPER JULIUS who comes over from Ireland.

He was fifth of 23 in a big turf handicap over there after three awful runs on Dundalk’s all-weather and is a full 20 lbs below the mark he was racing off over here last summer when trained by Eve Johnson-Houghton.

It could be a two-horse race.
