Tiger Roll set for Grand National
Trainer Gordon Elliott has confirmed Tiger Roll is set to defend his Randox Health Grand National title next month.
The nine-year-old has enjoyed a superb 12 months under Elliott, winning the Grand National at Aintree in April 2018. He then won at Navan in February at odds of 25/1 on what was supposed to be a warm-up for the Cheltenham Festival. Tiger Roll followed that up by cruising to victory in the Glenfarclas Chase at the Festival last week and Elliott confirms his charge is being lined up for Aintree having barely broken sweat at Prestbury Park. ‘The horse has come out of the race very well, and the plan is to go for the English National,’ said Elliott.‘Obviously I have to discuss it with Michael and Eddie (O’Leary, of Gigginstown) – but I can’t see any reason at the moment why we won’t be going there.’
