Nicholls wants Warriors Tale Doncaster redemption
Paul Nicholls hopes Warriors Tale can make up for last year’s disappointment and win the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster on Saturday.
Nicholls’ charge lost out by a head to Wakanda in the race 12 months ago but is being lined up for a return to Town Moor this weekend. The 10-times champion trainer has twice won the prestigious handicap – which used to be known as the Great Yorkshire Chase – with Colourful Life in 2005 and Big Fella Thanks in 2009 and he hopes Warriors Tale can make it a hat-trick. He said: ‘Warriors Tale was beaten a short-head last year and loves good ground. ‘ Nicholls also has Art Mauresque and Favorito Buck’s as possible entries for the Doncaster race but owner Mrs Johnny de la Hey is only likely to allow one to run, with the trainer suggesting Favorito Buck’s will be held back.He added: ‘I suspect if Art Mauresque runs then Favorito Buck’s will wait. I suspect those two (Art Mauresque and Warriors Tale) will run.’
