Mare’ Hurdle plan for Apple’s Jade
Gordon Elliott is planning an outing in the Mare’s Hurdle at Cheltenham for Apple’s Jade after her victory at Fairyhouse on Sunday.
The six-year-old mare produced another impressive performance to claim her third victory in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle, which came on the back of her comeback win in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan. Apple’s Jade finished a massive 20 lengths clear of last season’s Irish Champion Hurdle hero Supasundae, while Willie Mullins’ Limini was third. Elliott was delighted with the race and confirmed that the Mare’s Hurdle is the likely target at March’s Cheltenham Festival. The County Meath trainer said: ‘You go for the races you think you can win and the easiest race I think is the Mares’ Hurdle.‘She’ll have entries in everything and we’ll see what happens.’
