Bailey playing waiting game with Vinndication
Trainer Kim Bailey says he is happy to play the waiting game before Vinndication returns to racing action.
The Moremoneythan-owned five-year-old was an impressive performer last season, following up a victory at Ludlow with three wins from as many starts over hurdles. Vinndication has continued that form this term, as he won on his chasing debut at Carlisle earlier this month, maintaining his unbeaten record with a fine display. However, the bay gelding appears to have nothing in the immediate pipeline in terms of his next race, with Bailey admitting he wants to step his charge up in class soon, but not until conditions soften up. ‘We are just waiting for the soft ground with him and he won’t be running until we get it,’ Bailey was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.‘We were lucky at Carlisle that it rained and that is the ground he wants. I’m not going to rush him as he is only a baby. ‘ Bailey did go on to indicate that he has earmarked a Grade Two race at Ascot as potentially being Vinndication’s next port of call, although conditions will again dictate that decision. The trainer added: ‘The Grade Two race at Ascot just before Christmas is a race that I would be interested in. That is very much a possibility.’
