Gordon to be patient with Highway
Trainer Chris Gordon says he is in no hurry to send Highway One O One into a handicap despite some positive performances.
The six-year-old has won two of his three outings since returning to action in September, coming second on his only other appearance, and he has been tipped for a step up in class. Gordon is delighted to see his charge enjoying a good run of form but he isn’t ready to take a gamble just yet. The Winchester trainer believes the randoxhealth. com Henry VII Novices’ Chase at Sandown provides an interesting test, and admits they will consider future plans from there.Gordon said: ‘I was really pleased with him at Carlisle, and it’s nice to have some good horses in the yard. ‘He has won two chase races now – and I don’t want to go in a handicap yet, because he may spend a lot of his life later on in them. ‘The only option I see for him now is to have a go at the Henry VIII at Sandown, and I think that is the obvious way forward.’
