Eldorado on course for Tolworth Hurdle
Joe Tizzard says Eldorado Allen is likely to have one more outing before heading to Sandown for the Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle in 2019.
The four-year-old made his seasonal bow at the Esher track earlier this month, beating Sevarano by four-and-a-half-lengths, in his maiden outing under Colin Tizzard. After success in his first British race connections are keen to test Eldorado Allen at a higher level in the 32Red Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle in January. However, they feel he needs a further run in the meantime as they look to ensure he is fully up to speed when eventually placed alongside tougher company. Assistant trainer Joe Tizzard said: ‘He is nice.It was only a maiden hurdle he won at Sandown, but he was very eyecatching. ‘He was purchased with a big reputation from France and has done everything right at home. ‘Terry Warner (part-owner) was telling people he was the second best horse he has had beforehand. He did do it properly and looked impressive. ‘We will probably stay small next time, before going to the Tolworth in the new year. ‘We’ve not made a definite plan yet. He has come out of it well and didn’t have a hard race.’
