Henderson hints at Shloer run for Altior
Altior could make his return to action in the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham on November 18, Nicky Henderson has confirmed.
The eight-year-old, who missed the first half of last season after undergoing wind surgery, has not had a competitive outing since winning his second Celebration Chase at Sandown in April. However, the Queen Mother Champion Chase winner at the Cheltenham Festival in March has looked sharp of late and Henderson is now weighing up his options for a seasonal reappearance. There is the possibility of an outing at Cheltenham on Sunday week or he could hold him back to the Tingle Creek at Sandown on December 8. The Seven Barrows handler said: ‘He will probably get entered for it (Shloer Chase) and we will talk about it, but it is possible he will just head to the Tingle Creek.‘All those big horses are in good form and worked yesterday (Wednesday).’
