Weather worry for Navy Flag
Aidan O’Brien is keeping an anxious eye on the weather in Australia before US Navy Flag runs in the TAB Everest on Saturday morning.
The six-furlong test is being billed as the world’s richest race on turf with 12 of the fastest horses battling it out in what looks to be an open race. The colt, who finished second in the Irish 2000 Guineas, has dropped back down to sprinting and was a comfortable winner out of a top-class field at Newmarket.
The only worry Down Under is the weather.
‘He’s in good form and everything seems well with him,’ said O’Brien.
‘Obviously the worry we have is with the ground as they are getting plenty of rain down there, which is probably not ideal, but everyone seems to be happy with him other than that.’
