Dark Vision done for the year

Quick Returner Ready Go In Again

Connections have revealed Dark Vision has no serious injuries but will not race again this season.

The two-year-old enjoyed a great start to his career, winning his first three races, including the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

The son of Dream Ahead, who was bought by Godolphin after his Goodwood triumph, then finished last of six in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last month.

It was thought that the colt might challenge eventual winner Too Darn Hot on Town Moor but was way off the pace, with trainer Mark Johnstone sending him for a scan after the race.

Charlie Johnston, assistant to his father, insists there is nothing structurally wrong with the horse but he will now be mothballed until next season.

‘Nothing really came out of the scan,’ he said.

‘There’s no serious injury anyway.

We’re going to give him a break now.

He’s finished for the year.

‘We’ll have to speak to the owners about what we do with him next spring.

Whether we give him a prep run somewhere or go straight to one of the Classics, we’ll see.’
