Appleby reveals St Leger plans
Loxley goes into the race in good form, having secured two wins in France after he finished second in the Bahrain Trophy in July.
After winning the Great Voltigeur at York, Old Persian secured his spot for the St Leger and now Appleby is looking forward to seeing the talented pair in action at Doncaster on Saturday.
Appleby confirmed to godolphin. com: ‘We have decided to run two in the Leger – Old Persian will be ridden by William Buick, while James Doyle will be on Loxley. ‘
Godolphin trainer Appleby is going in search of an impressive double, having already claimed the Derby with Masar this season.
