Cheltenham in the balance for Fujimoto Flyer

Connections have yet to decide whether or not to send Fujimoto Flyer to the Cheltenham Festival.

The Emmet Mullins-trained four-year-old holds three entries at the Festival as the JCB Triumph Hurdle, Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle and Daylesford Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle are all potential targets.

However, Fujimoto Flyer came in 13 lengths behind winner Solo in the Adonis Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton last month, with Solo now the clear favourite for the Triumph.

Mullins says a run out at Prestbury Park is still a possibility but he remains non-committal at this stage.

‘She came out if very well, so we’re happy enough so far,’ said Mullins, as reported by Sky Sports.

‘She ran a cracker, but I’d say we bumped into a special one [Solo] on the day.

‘I have no idea if she’ll go at all [to Cheltenham].

It’s early days yet.

We’ll just keep our options open.

‘There’s a lot of water under the bridge before Cheltenham – and whether she’ll go or not, she’ll tell us when she’s ready.’
