Fusil Raffles set for return
Nicky Henderson says Fusil Raffles is looking good ahead of his return to action at Punchestown on Saturday.
He was expected to head to the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year after claiming an impressive victory on his British debut in the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton in February. But the four-year-old injured himself in that race and had to withdraw from the Triumph Hurdle at the Festival. Henderson has been patient with his charge but feels it was the right choice as Fusil Raffles prepares to return to competitive action in the AES Champion Four Year Old Hurdle on Saturday. Henderson said: ‘We had to mend that hind leg of Fusil Raffles’ after he got a horrible cut when he won the Adonis Hurdle.‘But that has gone very well, and he did his first bit of fast work last week, so we are on schedule.’
