Golden Sixty team to bypass QEII Cup
Top Hong Kong horse is finished for the campaign.
Golden Sixty has been ruled out of the Group One FWD QEII Cup at Sha Tin by trainer Francis Lui. The Medaglia d’Oro gelding has been one of the stars of the Hong Kong season, notching up seven successive wins culminating in the Hong Kong Derby last month. He had been in the mix for the 10-furlong QEII Cup on April 26, but Lui feels it best to send the five-year-old for a break now before preparing for next term. “He won’t run,” Lui said. “He’s achieved a lot this season and we feel he needs a rest now to refresh his mind and let him develop. “He’ll have a summer break and then we’ll prepare him for next season.”
