Beauty Generation too good in Chairman’s Trophy
Waikuku disappoints in Sha Tin feature.
Beauty Generation showed all his class to record victory in the Chairman’s Trophy at Sha Tin.
The highest-rated miler in the world, John Moore’s superstar returned to winning ways at Group One level last time out and was sent off second-favourite for this Group Two assignment behind Waikuku – who had beaten him the last four times they had met.
Enjoying the perfect trip under Zac Purton on the shoulder of leader Ka Ying Star, with Waikuku similarly well placed on the rail, Beauty Generation turned for home full of running.
Purton had still not moved a furlong and a half out and when he did his mount found plenty without him having to get overly serious, always holding Ka Ying Star and Southern Legend. Waikuku was disappointing, beating only one home.
