Dettori shines again to win Commonwealth crown
Frankie Dettori was the star of the show once again as he secured victory in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot on board Advertise.
Having been one of the standout performers in the juvenile division last season, Advertise was disappointing in his outing in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket last month.
However, the Martyn Meade-trained star was back with a bang at Royal Ascot on Friday as the colt managed to pull away from the pack in the final furlong to claim victory under Dettori, who had already guided Stradivarius to Gold Cup glory on Thursday.
Forever In My Dreams had to settle for second spot after being beaten by a length and a half, while Hello Youmzain finished third, with Aidan O’Brien’s Ten Sovereigns fourth.
