Improving Three-Year-Old Ready To Strike Again

After three runs as a two-year-old, the last an encouraging three length fifth over seven furlongs at Kempton, SHIMMERING DAWN made her reappearance over today’s course and distance at the start of April and won easily from Sundiata, first and second in her previous outings.

Given six weeks to recover, Dawn was sent up to Hamilton for a Class 4 handicap and repeated the trick, coming home comfortably from Hafeet Alain and Sandret, the former a runner-up on his previous run and the latter seeking a hat-trick.

The daughter of Morpheus steps up to a Class 3 today and is off a six pounds higher mark but looks a real improver and can win again.

PROBABILITY is next best on BTO ratings but is up four pounds for a Chester win and a full 16 from when he started a successful run in February.

FURIOUS is a course and distance winner but might be edged out of it under six pounds more than his last-time-out win at Wolverhampton when he got an easy lead at a gentle pace before kicking on.

At 4/1 with a good few of the layers, Shimmering Dawn is edging up to an each-way bet to nothing in an 11 horse field.
