Fairyhouse trip on the cards for Percy
Gold Cup favourite Presenting Percy will swerve the Red Mills at Gowran Park in favour of the Bobbyjo Chase, connections say.
The eight-year-old was triumphant on his seasonal bow in the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park last month. Connections were initially planning to return to County Kilkenny circuit for the Red Mills on Saturday but it appears they have had a change of heart. Owner Philip Reynolds insists his charge is in good health but feels he will be better suited to a run in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse on February 23. Reynolds said: “All is good with Percy.“We’re going to give him an entry in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse. Pat [Kelly] is in no rush with him, and if we decide to go straight to Cheltenham then so be it.”
