Accidental Agent to miss QEII
Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton has confirmed Accidental Agent will miss the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes due to injury.
The four-year-old has struggled for form over the last few months after returning from a 54 day, having settled for tenth and fifth at Deauville and Newmarket respectively. He was being lined up for a tilt in this weekend’s Balmoral Handicap at Ascot, however, a “minor setback” has forced connections to take him out of the running.
Johnson Houghton confirmed they will keep the surprise winner of the Queen Anne Stakes in training as they plot more success in 2019.
‘Having met with a minor setback, we have made the decision not to run Accidental Agent again year.
Although we are sad to miss the QEII @Ascot, we can’t wait for next year with him. #group1winner,” Johnson Houghton Tweeted.
