Course And Distance Victor Set To Strike Again
Progressive Filly Ready To Return To Winning Ways
A winner away from the National pays the same as at Aintree and we can cash in via the opener at Lingfield today. The Jean-Rene Auvray trained filly FIRST LINK has her tenth race in the Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Fillies’ Handicap over seven furlongs and has won on both occasions that she has raced here at the distance. Her penultimate race was a slight disappointment when she was fourth at Chelmsford, beaten five lengths by Clon Coulis. The latter might well be really useful, however, with two wins in Class 1 events last Autumn and the second and third, Pattie and Emily Goldfinch would be installed as favourite if running in today’s event.First Link is up 5 lbs for her last win here but was hampered two out there and finished as though she could have won further with a clear run. She is top on BTO figures and gets three positives, including Auvray’s two from nine in the last few weeks. SARASOTA and CHICA DE LA NOCHE are next best but have BTO negatives and a First win can get us gambling money for an event much further north at 5.15. G Lees
