Start The Day With A Splash At Newbury
Young Hurdler Set To Go In Again For Trainer Williams
Apprentice Harry Teal took advantage of Leighton Aspell’s fall to get his second ride on BREAKING WAVES at Huntingdon last month and drove the five-year-old home by a length and a half from Hold The Note, with Ivilnoble back in third. That form is good, with those two having finished first and second in a good Doncaster event just after Christmas. Both Breaking Waves and Hold The Note made mistakes at the last in that Huntingdon race but the former, a son of Yeats, stayed on really well and got every yard of the two and a half mile trip. Newbury’s long straight will suit him well. That was just his fifth race and he had wind surgery after his third contest so should have plenty of improvement in him. Top on BTO regular and third on speed figures, and despite getting a poor stat for the progeny of Yeats at Newbury also gets positives for trainer Noel Williams and pilot Teal at the course. MORNING VICAR is a well rated second best on BTO figures and DASHEL DRASHER has won his last two, the latest a Class 2 at Ascot. In what will be an informative race for the future, Breaking Waves can outstay his rivals at the 3/1 currently on offer. G Lees
