French Import Looks Ready To Set Up A Sequence

Trainer Philip Hobbs admits Rock The Kasbah will still be targeting the Grand National after his win at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The eight-year-old returned to action at Chepstow last month and finished sixth before stepping up at Prestbury Park.

Rock The Kasbah was partnered by champion jockey Richard Johnson and he won by over a length in the end.

He eventually beat Royal Vacation and Coneygree during Saturday’s contest and Hobbs admits his charge looks in good shape ahead of another go at the Grand National in April.

Hobbs told reporters: ‘His jumping was fantastic, which is always a great plus here.

I’m delighted with him.

He was disappointing (at Chepstow), but the race has worked out really well since.

‘Maybe as he got older he has just needed a run, but he was all right today.

We will have the National in mind, as good ground suits him, and I suppose we ought to work back from that.’
