Gifford confident Didtheyleaveuoutto can step up to hurdles

Nick Gifford believes Didtheyleaveuoutto will not have any issues when he takes on the hurdles at Fakenham on Wednesday.

The outing in Norfolk will mark his first appearance since struggling in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival in March, a result that left connections in a quandary.

He had previously won at Lingfield and in Listed company at Ascot and, after the summer off, Gifford believes the JP McManus-owned gelding is primed to go well against six rivals over two miles.

Gifford said: ‘He is in great order.

All we have been doing is waiting for a bit of rain to fall.

‘The ground should be ideal and he has jumped well in schooling so we are very hopeful.

We are starting him off low key but it looks a nice place to start him off.

‘We know he is a nice horse, he has now got to prove it over hurdles but we are very hopeful.’
