This One Should Get Home North Of The Border
Three-Year-Old Ready To Win Again With Conditions To Suit
With the deluge that many parts of Britain has had this weekend, care should be taken to find candidates for a bet that go on the prevailing ground – they are watering at Newton Abbot and Ffos Las whilst it’s soft at Ayr with showers forecast. One who definitely goes in the ground is recent runner HOUSE DEPOSIT who switched from Declan Carroll to Roger Fell just under a fornight ago. His last race for Carroll had been in a Class 5 at Newmarket where he had tried to make all but had faded in the last furlong. Fell ran him at Doncaster last Thursday where he was squeezed and lost a few lengths at the start, was last for four and a half furlongs, and then ran on past beaten horses under a hands and heels ride from Cam Hardie. The ground was good to firm at Donny and the horse has shown a preference for give in the ground with both wins coming on soft, at Redcar and Thirsk. Today’s race is over that distance on soft and he goes off the same mark of 64, whilst the quick reappearance surely shows intent. FOREVER A LADY also comes out again after a week’s rest and has been running well of late. The problem is that she hasn’t raced over six furlongs for two years and was been beaten seven lengths when last attempting the distance. There has been money for IT’S NEVER ENOUGH but he’s only seen a racecourse once in 12 months and was beaten 36 lengths in that race, a novice hurdle at Newcastle. At 9/4, obtainable with Bet365 and BetVictor, House Deposit looks worth a Monday bet without putting the mortgage on. G Lees
