Edmunds Mount Worth The Wait At Beverley
Quick Returner Has Conditions Just Right To Win Again
On the principle that a 2/1 winner pays out the same at Beverley as it does at Ascot, the Rebecca Bastiman trained MAJESTE looks worth an investment this evening. He ran a close third to Hillside Angel at Hamilton last Wednesday over a furlong longer and tonight’s trip might well suit him better as he won twice over nine furlongs in May. Those wins followed a couple of warm-ups after a winter break and were off marks of 57 and 62 and the extra five pounds he carries tonight shouldn’t be a problem with everything else in place. He has regular pilot Lewis Edmunds on board, loves a bit of cut in the ground and should shake off nearest rival WHATWOULDYOUKNOW who is coming back to the form that got him four wins in late Summer and Autumn last year.He is on a mark of 64 that looks just within his capabilities but hasn’t yet shown softish turf ground works for him. The filly VENTURA ROYAL is running for the first time with a hood after a wind operation but the market isn’t showing much interest. At 7/4 Majeste looks the one, though he can be dutched with Whatdoyouknow at 3/1 for a 61% profit. G Lees
