Course And Distance Winner Ready To Strike Again

Brighton is a quirky course that produces winners who can’t get their heads in front anywhere else, and others that cannot act on it at all and we have a runner there this evening whose only victory was over course and distance a year ago.

RIVAS ROB ROY is, in context, a fairly consistent type in relation to getting placed and was backed into favouritism last-time-out at Lingfield on the all-weather, just failing to land the odds by a length and a half.

He had run well at today’s course before his win when just going down by under a length to Alaska on what was, effectively his debut (he unseated on his actual first run) and this could be a plot to recoup those Lingfield losses.

The son of Archipenko is second best on regular, and third on speed ratings and his sire’s progeny love Brighton with a win stat of six from 29.

His trainer John Gallagher had a winner with Iley Boy last week and is also fond of Brighton with a five-year return of 21%.

Rivas Rob Roy is a solid 4/1 across the board and might be subject to a gamble.
