Consistent Type To Catch The Judge’s Eye At Hereford
Six-Year-Old Can Get First Hurdle Win For New Stable
When the grey gelding JUGE ET PARTI made an impressive winning debut in a National Hunt flat event at Bangor back in the Spring of 2017 it looked like he might run up a sequence, either in bumpers or over hurdles. He has run 11 races since, all over the smaller obstacles and has managed five seconds and a couple of thirds without quite getting his head in front at the line. His win was for Christian Williams and he has had eight runs for Nigel Twiston-Davies since, but has now been transferred to Archie Watson’s Upper Lambourn yard and is ridden today by Brodie Hampson. On BTO and other ratings, Juge Et Parti is clear of this field and on all known form should take this. He goes on any ground and the distance looks ideal, whilst he has run well at right-handed tracks Perth and Ludlow.Watson has sent one horse to the course before and he got into the winners’ enclosure and the trainer had a winner at Kempton just a week ago. Jockey Hampson has ridden three winners at Hereford from 11 rides, which is 119% better than expected. TARRONA is second best on BTO figures but hasn’t won a race from 15 attempts and is now ten years of age and GO MILLIE GO might prove to be the nearest challenger to Juge Et Parti. The mare comes from the Irish point-to-point field and ran well without threatening at Chepstow last month. SENSE OF ADVENTURE was in the process of running a really good race at Carlisle on his jumping debut last month but came down at the second last. He had also fallen, this time at the last when looking the winner in his only point-to-point race a year ago. At 13/8 Juge Et Parti looks a worthy favourite.
