Lad Can Take The Catch At Uttoxeter

Quick Returner Has Conditions To Win Again

Two recent winners and an unlucky unseater in CAMLAD KINGFISHER, OURMULLION and NAASIK look to dominate the Optimum Pay Group Handicap Hurdle at Uttoxeter today, with the former just seeming to have the best credentials.

Ourmullion, from the Pipe stable came out at Newton Abbot last week in a Novices’ Handicap Hurdle and beat Riviere Argentee and 10 others over an extended two miles.

That form appears good as the runner-up was on a hat-trick and the third, Vanderbilt, had just been pipped in a photo’ finish in his previous outing.

It was a bit of a messy race, however, with plenty of scrimmaging early on before the three horses mentioned forged on.

Ourmullion has a 7lbs penalty which puts him up to a mark of 100 and he was only being placed off a few pounds less than this before his win.

Camlad Kingfisher has taken on a new lease of life after a wind operation and runs for trainer Sarah-Jayne Davies who has eight horses at her Leominster yard.

He has managed a second and a win here since that operation, and again has Tabitha Worsley on board.

She claims 5lbs in this race, and the horse is unpenalised for his last win, going off the same mark of 90.

DA DOU RON RON is vying for favouritism with the above-mentioned pair but wouldn’t win this on last season’s form.

He has switched stables and wears a tongue-tie for the first time.

NAASIK seemed the season’s unluckiest loser last time over course and distance when looking all over the winner two out despite a slipped saddle.

That item went further round approaching the last and the pilot bailed out – or was, metaphorically, pushed.

Off the same mark of 74 he is a winner without a penalty.

At a solid 5/2 the progressive Camlad Kingfisher can wing it.
