Battaash tipped to make history
Charlie Hills is confident Battaash can extend his fine record at Goodwood when he travels for the King George Qatar Stakes.
The five-year-old boasts a formidable record at Goodwood and connections are hoping to see that continue on August 2. He was won the last two editions of the King George Qatar Stakes and is heavily fancied to retain that title at the Sussex track. Hills said: ‘This has not been done before, so that would be a great achievement. I can’t see a reason why it won’t happen.‘He is quite small and nimble and whether he handles going down the hill better than some of those big sprinters, that may be the case. ‘He is a tremendously fast horse. If we try to get the fractions right he will be a hard horse to beat.’
