Maiden To Break Duck In Handicap

Quick Returner Has Conditions To Win At Carlisle

An unlucky loser that is returned to the course quickly can be a source of income and IFTON fits the bill today in the Ione’s Vingt Et Un Maiden Handicap.

He ran at Haydock last Friday and went down by just under four lengths to Warning Fire.

That horse has confirmed the race as decent as he has come out at Ayr since and just gone down in a photo finish off a 6lb higher mark.

Equally significant is that Ifton was twice hindered when trying to get a run and finished the race really well.

He goes off the same mark of 63 today and looks an improver in any case, performing much better after being gelded and transferred to Ruth Carr’s Yorkshire stable in May and having six months off the course in total.

He ran disappointingly on soft ground two outings ago and today’s ground is ideal.

BLINDINGLY is top on BTO ratings and FARD is being backed after a fourth at Catterick yesterday; he’ll run well again but struggles to get his head in front.

Ifton can easily be found at 3/1 and that looks a good bet.
