Jack The Lad Ticks The Boxes
Honest Sprinter To Get His Head In Front Again
It was just a week ago at Newmarket that JACK THE TRUTH broke a long losing run, albeit it one with good performances in it. He took a Class 4 handicap by half a length from Nibras Again and the form was boosted in no uncertain manner when that horse came out and beat a field of 18 in a hot Class 3 York handicap. Jack is up 5 lbs today, but this seems reasonable and he will have regained confidence from the Newmarket run. The significant factor seems to have been the return to turf after being campaigned on the all-weather; he has raced just four times on grass from 22 races and in the three that he was beaten in was only down a length in two of them .Today’s event is a drop in class for him and he can take advantage from the likes of EDGED OUT, who looked back in form when second off this mark in 15-runner race at Bath last week, and 14/1 MAWDE who has been out of form but is coming down the weights.
