It All Points Up The Hill In The Long Run

Coleman Mount Has Conditions In His Favour At Stratford

Today’s three miles two and a half furlongs is one of the longest races over hurdles in the UK and will suit GARDINERS HILL admirably.

The nine-year-old son of Stowaway needs as strong a test of stamina as is possible, such as when last winning at Hereford three outings ago.

He raced over an extended three miles one there and looked amongst the also rans four furlongs out.

Stamina then kicked in and he slowly hauled back the field to take it up at the last and actually win going away.

He had two subsequent races over shorter trips off marks off 111 and 114, but is down to 110 today, just three pounds higher than his penultimate win at Ludlow last Autumn.

He should get a good pace off BOREHAM BILL who has led or been just off the leaders in his last half a dozen contests, so hopefully we can see Coleman taking it up coming off the back stretch before Stratford’s short run in.

Gardiners is best on BTO ratings and gets three nice positives for Stratford, including his sire’s five from 16 there, 40% better than expected.

THE WELSH PADDIES looks next best, up 6 lbs for a good Huntingdon win and second on BTO ratings.

BET888 go 12/1 on Gardiners Hill and that must be worth a punt and he is 2.

1/1 with Betfair to get in the first three – possibly late on.
