French Import Looks Ready To Set Up A Sequence

Consistent Type Ready To Get His Head In Front With Conditions To Suit

Somerset trainer Philip Hobbs continues to produce winners – he had one in the shape of Defi du Seuil at Cheltenham last week- and his horses tend to run to the odds allotted.

He has a maiden of seven runs going today in the shape of LARKBARROW LAD and the six-year-old can get his head in front for the first time.

He seems to lack in the latter parts of his races after travelling well, and also hangs, so may have had something wrong.

He has had a wind operation since his last outing, a second in a Class 3 at Kempton and that was a better race than today’s.

The normal tongue-tie is fitted and if the breathing procedure works he looks the likely winner.

He is best on BTO stats and figures, ahead of DONCESAR DU PRETOT, who has been off the course for three months and GRANGE RANGER who gets three nice positives, including the 42% better than expected performance of the progeny of his sire Kalanisi at Southwell.

In-form Nico de Boinville is on IMPERIAL KNIGHT, who is consistent and looks the main danger.
