It Can Be Nicholls Again In Foxhunters
Veteran Trained For Another Win In His Favourite Race
The twelve-year-old gelding PACHA DU POLDER has run in this race on three occasions with his figures reading 5, 1 and 1 and he has been prepared by master trainer Paul Nicholls to add another first to those statistics today. He has had some well-known pilots in the shape of Victoria Pendleton and yesterday’s heroine Bryony Frost and today Harriet Tucker takes the mount. She was on board last season, when, defying a recently dislocated shoulder, she guided Pacha Du Polder to triumph in this hunter chasers’ cup final. Nicholls has followed a similar training pattern to last year with the horse having just one race, a fifth at Haydock, in preparation, and the horse seems to run his optimum races when fresh. He is third on BTO ratings behind COUSIN PETE and CAID DU BERLAIS and gets three decent positives, including a three from 13 for the progeny of his sire Muhtathir and an amazing 2500% better than expected win return for jockey Tucker at the course. HAZEL HILL has a remarkable 11 from 16 win return in point-to-points and three from three over regulation fences but if Pacha can overcome his twelve years he can win at an easily found 18/1. G Lees
