Connections consider Newbury for Rocky’s Treasure
Trainer Kim Bailey admits Newbury is likely to be the next destination for Rocky’s Treasure next month.
The seven-year-old boasts an impressive chasing record this season, having won on all three of his appearances, and connections are keen to see him gain further experience over fences. Bailey believes the Ladbrokes John Francome Novices’ Chase at Newbury on December 1 is likely to be next on the agenda for his charge, although Bailey admits the conditions will need to suit. Ultimately, Bailey is hoping to get Rocky’s Treasure in good shape for the Scottish National in the spring and next month’s outing will just be another step towards the Ayr showpiece. Bailey said: ‘It is all ground-related for him.‘If it stays dry he might go to Newbury for the three-mile Grade Two there, because what else can I do with him? ‘He has won three now, but the Scottish National in the spring is his main aim.’
