Burke not ruling out Doncaster trip
Trainer Karl Burke admits Kadar could still head to this month’s Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster.
The two-year-old came home first on his maiden outing in September at Haydock and connections were keen to take him to Newmarket.Burke was eyeing a trip to Doncaster if his charge performed strongly at Newmarket, however, poor conditions forced them to pull the plug on that idea.
The Spigot Lodge handler admits he needs to speak with his team at Phoenix Thoroughbred Limited but feels the Vertem Futurity Trophy could still be on the cards.
Burke said: ‘It was just the ground.
I’ve got to talk to the people at Phoenix, but I’m very happy to think of going straight for the Vertem Futurity in two weeks’ time.
‘We will surely have a bit of rain by then.
‘I’m going to have a look to see what the other options are for him. The idea was to run at Newmarket on Saturday and then go to Doncaster. Now that we’ve missed that due to the ground, things are open to discussion, but I’d be happy sending him to Doncaster.’
