Kadupul stakes Royal Ascot claim with victorious debut
Filly quoted for Albany Stakes after Yarmouth success.
Kadupul could earn a late call up to Willam Haggas’ team for Royal Ascot following her debut victory in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Yarmouth. Despite being the last of the five runners to exit the stalls in the six-furlong prize, the Dark Angel filly finished best of all to give Haggas his third juvenile winner of the season. Still faced with plenty of work to do approaching the final furlong, the 13-2 shot rallied well under James Doyle to wear down long-time leader Willabell and get up on the line to score by a short-head. The pair pulled 12 lengths clear of the third. The William Haggas trained Kadupul after making a winning debut under @the_doyler @GTYarmouthRaces pic.twitter.com/xazSOB8Ef5

Maureen Haggas, wife of the winning trainer, said: “Our two-year-olds are doing us proud as that is our third two-year-old winner. They are doing well which is great. “She was a bit green, but she battled well and will improve for that run. She is quite active at home, but she is a nice, kind filly. “She could go to Ascot next week and the Albany does come into consideration as she is by Dark Angel and has won on her debut.” Kadupul was introduced as 6-1 joint second-favourite for the Albany by Coral.
