No rush for Paisley camp call
Emma Lavelle says there is no rush to decide on Stayers’ Hurdle hero Paisley Park’s next outing.
The seven-year-old cruised to Cheltenham Festival glory on Thursday, adding a second Grade 1 to his previous success in the JLT Hurdle at Ascot, and questions inevitably started to be asked about potential future plans. Lavelle was quick to rule out a run next month at Aintree but there are still other options available before the end of the campaign. A run at the Punchestown Festival has been mooted but the Wiltshire handler says she will not be rushed into making a call on her stable star. She said: ‘He’s in great order but Aintree will come too soon. It’s too close to Cheltenham. ‘We’ll see what happens whether we go to Punchestown or not. He’s had a great year. He’s only seven years old. He’s got a great future ahead of him, touch wood.’
