Galmoy Hurdle planned for Sams Profile
Chasing campaign on hold for now.
Sams Profile will return to action at Gowran Park later this month in the Galmoy Hurdle. Trained by Mouse Morris, the Black Sam Bellamy gelding finished second in two Grade Ones last season, signing off with a good effort behind Reserve Tank at Punchestown. Prior to that he was fifth at Cheltenham to City Island in the Ballymore, and while Morris had considered going novice chasing this season, he decided to stick to smaller obstacles for now. “Sams Profile will run on the 23rd in the Galmoy on Thyestes day,” said Morris. “I was tempted to go chasing, but he had a bit of a setback. His bones were immature, so we thought he’d be better off staying over hurdles for now. “Hopefully he might be a Stayers’ Hurdle horse, that’s plan A anyway.“He might run in the Boyne Hurdle in between Gowran and Cheltenham, I don’t know yet.”
