Like many jumpers, ACCORDINGTOGINO began his career in an Irish point-to-point and it was a successful one too, with a six lengths win over three miles on ground with plenty of give in it.

That will bear him in good stead this afternoon when he tackles the extended two miles and seven furlongs Viasat Handicap Hurdle at Chepstow, again on soft ground.

This will be his fifth race in total and he has been out of the frame just once, looking a real stayer in each of those.

His latest effort was here over course and distance after seven months off the course and he ran on to some fashion after being held up.

The event was won by Eva’s Oskar, who had won his previous two races and ran a cracker when eight lengths sixth in a Class 1 handicap hurdle at Cheltenham last Saturday.

Sandy Bay was second and he had also won his previous two and then was just out of the money at Exeter next time out.

The progeny of Accordingtogino’s sire, Perugino, are a nice seven from 58 on today’s ground and the gelding goes off a mark of 117, the same as last time.

Apprentice William Marshall, who has ridden a nice 11% of his mounts to victory gets the mount.

MARCH IS ON and GOOD AND HARDY are best on BTO ratings and though the former’s siblings are 14% at Chepstow piilot Richie McLernon is waiting for his first winner there in 24 goes.

GOLDEN SOVEREIGN has been backed into favourite and trainer Hobbs is 26% here, but his best run was last time out on good ground.

Accordingtogino has also been backed but is still an each-way shot at Bet365’s and BetVictor’s 7/1.
