Follow The Star For A Winner In The North
Greatrix Juvenile Ready To Get The Double
Good things could have been expected of NORTH STAR OSCAR when he was runner-up to the well regarded Get In The Queue, subsequent winner of the Class2 Goffs UK Spring Sale Bumper, at Uttoxeter on his second outing. It took a wind operation, the application of a hood and a couple of runs before he got his first win, though, in a two miles handicap hurdle at Ffos Las. That was off a mark of 94 and after three decent but non-winning efforts he reproduced that form again when getting his head in front last time out at Worcester by half a length to Do You Know What. That looks a lot better than at first glance when it is noted that the third, G’Day Aussie was 16 lengths further back and that horse had been pipped in a photo on his previous run. North Star Oscar runs off 8lb higher today, but does seem to be improving and Harry Teal takes off 3lb.The latter has 25 wins to his name and is an encouraging 18% when riding for Greatrix, who is an impressive 29% at Wetherby. The horse is top on BTO regular and speed ratings. RUBYTWO looks next best and her trainer Nicky Richards has an excellent five from 15 win return at the course in the last five years. FIFTH SYMPHONY and CASH TO ASH are both being backed but the former was pulled up last time out and Cash To Ash has been off the course for nearly 11 months. As the only one in the field both fit and in-form, North Star Oscar can lead the way at 5/2. G Lees
