Hunters Call comeback may be postponed
Trainer Olly Murphy hopes Hunters Call is able to make a return next month at Cheltenham but admits his hopes hang in the balance.
Hunters Call’s last outing came in December last year as he won a Grade Three at Ascot, having been sidelined by a foot injury since. The eight-year-old is scheduled to make a reappearance in the Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham on November 18, but Murphy says there are no guarantees at this stage. ‘He will be entered in the Greatwood, but I’m tight for time getting him there,’ said Murphy, as reported by Sky Sports. ‘He is fine now, but we wouldn’t want any hiccups.‘If he doesn’t get to Cheltenham we could have a look at the Ascot race again – or something else before that – but our first plan is the Greatwood.’
